For this blog work, I want you to choose a piece of art, a movie, a song, or a person that, in your opinion, is a good representation of Route 66. You'll need to give some pieces of information about this piece of art, movie, etc. and justify your choice in a few lines.

For example: The song "Route 66" from Nat King*, and sung by many other artists. *You can't choose this one now ;-)

is

Important: Make sure you don't choose something that has already been chosen; or that at least you don't repeat the info.

Update: Deadline is Friday, December 3rd November 30th.

For this blog, I wanna talk about the Cowboy Motel’s sign. It represents a man who wearing “parachute” pants, the very typical hat and the famous scarf. These elements permitted to learn about wearing style in 50’s. We can see close of him a neon but he doesn’t work actually. The Motel is situated in Amarillo, Texas, and it’s still opened today for business.

I choose this sign because in some ways it was probably created by an artist. Cowboys are a good representation of Route 66 because we assimilated cowboys with old time of America, and Route 66 is old too! Both of them is a symbol of years around 1900 (the road is opened since 1926). The Cowboy is the man who lead cows and we have all in the head the picture with the cowboy and his horse behind cows on the road, and I’m pretty sure than Route 66 helped cowboy in their mission.

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=cowboy+motel+amarillo+tx&biw=1093&bih=538&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=48VMVIXhApHJggTc2IHACQ&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=vkk6znLS5oIR1M%253A%3BIHt9Aob3dqGsLM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Ffarm8.static.flickr.com%252F7183%252F6845027277_e94c06c717.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.flickriver.com%252Fplaces%252FUnited%252BStates%252FTexas%252FMayer%252Frecent%252F%3B788%3B1024

In my opinion, "When the street have no name" from U2 is a good representative music of what is the soul of route 66.

In that music, you cannot hear "route 66" anywhere, like on the map. But if you want to find you can feel the feeling of liberty that you have when you ride your car on the mother road.

In the first lyrics, the band say : "I wanna run, [...], I wanna tear down the walls, that hold me inside, [...]", And i think that what a bigest part of who drive the route 66 would like to do, be free, and when someone choose to do a journey on the mother road with this pupose, that only could be a good story.

After that first impression they say : "I want to feel ,Sunlight on my face, I see the dust cloud disappear , Without a trace , I want to take shelter from the poison rain ". Here we can easily think they speack about a part of the route 66, like the Texas, or the Oklahoma, and we can find again that feeling of liberty...

"Oh, we're beaten and blown by the wind , Blown by the wind , Oh, when I go there , I go there with you" In the end of the song we hear that, that speack about an important things on the mother road, you never go alone on the route 66, all of the best 66's storys speack about a crew, a couple, a friendship...

And ironically for the end we can speak about the name of the song, "Where the street have no name", the route 66 is not a road.... it's more like an itinerary, on itenary you choose when you want to become a better person. So technically all road you drive during your travel, don't have for named "route 66"...*

For all of that reason i think that Music is a good representation of the Route 66, of the Mother road of USA

to answer your question I chose to talk about a travel guide that contains 255 pages, published in January 2015, which is entitled "fabulous route66" published by Ulysses whose authors are "Pierre Daveluy, Ambroise Gabriel and CLAUDE MORNEAU"

and it speaks about the entire history of Route 66 and therefore this guide allows you to experience all the exhilarating moments that Route 66 provides, through its people, its landscapes, its architecture

for me it is a good representation of Route 66 because I think people don't really know why this route is so well known and in this guide we have the answer to everything

Route 66 is a highway that runs through the United States from east to west, with this crossing, she crosses very different landscapes. These landscapes could be forest, mountains, plains, desert, etc...

Today, I will talking about Mojave desert who is one of the largest desert in USA. This desert is very famous for many reasons. There is the Death Valley who is the hottest place in the world, 56,7 degrees measured in 1913! The landscape of the desert is rocky plains, sometimes interrupted by mountains. Not so far from this place there is the biggest gambling city, the capital we could say, Las Vegas! This city is a very important place in USA like the Route 66. Mojave desert isn’t only the place where there is nothing. This desert was the place of mining cities like Calico, but today it’s a ghost town. Mojave desert was the theater of the gold Rush too! That’s for these reasons why I choose the Mojave desert as the icon of Route 66. It's a place with a lot of history and part of this highway. When I think about Route 66, I see the route in the desert with nothing around. That’s why I choose Mojave desert. I already could speak about a movie, a song, a picture, but the desert is the first thing I think when we speak about Route 66.

Johnny Hallyday is for me a good representation of the Route 66. First of all, he had a soul of american rocker with the french accent and also he have always show his love of the American culture. With a american step-father he have done his dream during his childhood. During his career the performer showed the passion, and his love of the american rockn'roll with his style, song and shows. For exemple, he had always during his spectacle a black jacket, symbol of the rock, and on the beginning of his career he used some clothes of the style of the ''King' Elvis Presley. Thereby after be a representation of the american culture the singer was also a picture of the Route 66 like his famous passion for this road and his love for the Harley Davidson, the special bike, symbol of the Route 66.

During his life Johnny Hallyday followed many times this road and end his American Dream on Los Angeles, the finish of the route 66, where he lived at the end of his life, For end we can also speak about his last serie of concerts in 2009 who he called the ''Tour 66'',

I will take this special french character because i want to use european representation of the american route 66 and thereby show the knowledge of this famous road in the world.
